I have a Famicom that I was previously able to refurbish and AV Mod. The only thing that was wrong with it was that the controller P1 wasn't working.
I desoldered U7 and U8, added sockets and bought replacements 74368 chips. The good news was that the controller ports worked, but the audio output was only pulse waves and not the triange, noise and DPCM audio.
My next step was to trace everything back from the CPU pin 1 and 2 and everything appeared correct. I tried a different CPU since I have that socketed as well and I got the same symptoms as before. I've also swapped the 74368 chips between the RC40H368P and TC74HC368P chips but that made no difference.
Maybe there's something I've missed but I'm running out of ideas. Any help is appreciated!
