Something that caught my attention is the way graphics were developed. I was thinking that after graph paper, Japanese developers would take a look at what Deluxe Paint was doing and maybe take cues from it or something, because according to this video, it seemed like DP (the so called standard for pixel-art tools back during the day) was primarily popular in the West but not as big of a hit in Japan.

Also, the trend of 'making your own custom SDKs and dedicated hardware for development because the company didn't provide any' didn't just end with the Famicom, I believe the Super Famicom, while having official ones, didn't provide one for everyone. I recall a few interviews where developers stated that what they had was some hacked up solution involving many parts laying around, could be wrong though.
