For an MMC3 game, is there a way in an NES ROM file to distinguish whether the game is supposed to have RAM on the cartridge?
I mean, there's an indicator whether it has a battery, so every battery-backed game of course has that RAM. But if you don't have the battery, there can still be the question whether you do or don't need extra RAM on the cartridge.
Is MMC3 without extra RAM even a thing? Or did all cartridges automatically have that RAM because it's a fixed part of the board?
