NES-001 no power/voltage regulator output too high

Hi I’m brand new here, and new to repairing an original NES. I got an NES-001 front loader with the hope of having it ready for Christmas, something me and my wife wanted to share with our older kids who are into the retro gaming. When I got it, it had the red blinking light. Turns out the power module had visible damage and the voltage regulator had shorted out. Ordered a “new” working module on eBay, got it installed and now nothing! Correct power in, power switch is good. Voltage through power switch is 7.9. The only power I can trace through the module is from the power input to the capacitor and from the capacitor to the voltage regulator. From the capacitor to the regulator I’m getting 8.4 - 8.3 across all pins. But the voltage regulator seems to be fine with no shorts. Don’t know if I’m doing this right. I have some experience but not any with this system. Any ideas? Thank you all for any help!
